So another year over and I’m going to be very cliché and say it flew by but it really did! Christmas came like a bolt out of the blue and now the holidays are near over. But I’m looking forward to brighter evenings coming over the next few months, a few days WITHOUT rain and another year of blogging. Oh and all the fab new Spring / Summer releases! I’ve just put together my Top 10 Beauty Buys I loved using this year and as you can guess – it was hard to narrow it down!
Also please forgive the stock photos, for the life of me can’t remember where I left my SD card so thats another thing I need to buy 🙂
Foundation: L’Oreal True Match & Infallible 24Hr Matte
This has been the year for L’Oreal in the foundation department with the release of the Infalliable 24 Hour Matte and the re-formulation of True Match. These have honestly been my go-to foundations for most of the year and have re-purchased both SO many times. Coming in at around the €12-€15 mark they are budget friendly enough too. If you haven’t tried either of these yet, definitely pick them up!
Mascara: Max Factor False Lash Effect
As a beauty blogger I do get to try out quite a few mascaras but out of them all, this is the one I always have come back to. It just never fails me, gives such awesome definition, volume and is easy peasy to remove at night. For me it just has the perfect brush for what I need and never clumps. Total winner!
Lips: Catrice Lipliner & Wet n Wild Lipstick
I was all about the rose-toned nude lip this year and these two just work perfect for me. Catrice LipLiner in the shade “That’s what Rose would do” is less than €3.50 and the texture and staying power is no different from something 5 times the price! It’s a brilliant nude liner that would suit everyone. For lipstick I mostly wore Wet n Wild shade “In the Flesh” so much that it’s practically worn out and for just €2.99 it’s such a steal!
Eyeshadow Palettes: Urban Decay Smoky & Seventeen Easy on the Eye
Love these two palettes for completely different looks, both on different in terms of price but both beautiful palettes. The Urban Decay Smoky caused a storm when it launched and it’s the perfect evening time palette – I also like to use as eyeliners with a wet angle brush. The Seventeen “Easy on the Eye” is a gorgeous warm neutral palette, easy for everyday wear with the shadows having a mix of cream and powder, and all extremely blendable.
Face Mask: Abecco Bee Venom Mask
When you have a big event the next day and you want plump, radiant skin most people think of the likes of GlamGlow. I always reach for this! In my opinion it blows GlamGlow out of the water but the name puts people off. Honestly it’s not as extreme as it sounds, and it really plumps out any fine lines and gives the skin an all over boost! Lasts forever too!
Tan: MineTan Mousse
This was a new find this year and one that gives such a beautiful natural colour. I use the Purple Top one for European Skin types and this replicates the colour you would get if you naturally tanned so not a hint of orange in sight! I do love mousse formulations when it comes to tan and this will be right on my list again for the Summer.
Not a beauty product per say bit I HAD to include this!! Where has it been all my life? Every Christmas I always treat myself to a good quality hair tool. Last year it was a new GHD, this year I bit the bullet and bought the SteamPod. While I’ve only been using this for just 2 weeks, lets just say my GHD’s have not seen the light of day since…..and I was GHD obsessive! I will try do a full in-depth review in January as it’s just amazing!!
So there you go, I could have easily gone for a Top 50 but these are just some of the beauty bits I reached for the most this year. Did you spot any favourites???
I’d like to wish you a very Happy New Year and chat to you all soon in 2016!!
Lots of love,
