Catrice is a budget brand I have found recently found myself reaching to more and more. Since my local pharmacy started stocking a few months ago, popping in for just a prescription or other essentials, always ends with a few Catrice products. I love that the pharmacy is a quiet one and the stand is always fully stocked, the downside about browsing in Penneys is that everything is everywhere!!!
Here’s a few bits I’ve bought a few weeks ago, and with everything coming in under a fiver……you can’t pass them by! Apart from the great price point, the products I’ve tried so far are all fantastic and with good sturdy packaging too!
Prime & Fine Mattifyng Powder
This is a translucent setting powder and rivals a lot of more expensive ones I’ve used! The packaging is really good and sturdy so this has taken over from my Rimmel Stay Matte for the handbag, it also includes a mirror. It claims to be waterproof, which I’m not 100% sure about but it kept my foundation in place all day without any caking so it certainly works well at controlling an oily T-zone. Definetly one to pick up and I think this was around €4.50.
Matte Bronzing Powder in “Medium”
This was featured in my October favourites as I found it the perfect shade for my paler skin, especially coming into Winter when I don’t wear tan. Although the shade is in “medium’ it’s very light, build-able and matte so it’s great for light contouring. This was around €5.49 I think!
Liquid Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer
This has been raved about the last while throughout the beauty world and I’ve been loving it too! The coverage is full but not drying, so perfect for the under eye area. I went with the shade 010 Porcellain (it annoys me a little that it’s spelt wrong!!!) and it does a great job for highlighting too. This was around €3.50 and again, better than some more expensive ones I’ve used.
Ultimate Colour Lipstick in “In a Rosegarden”
The perfect everyday nude shade bordering on the mauve side. Cheap and cheerful, good colour payoff with a slight sheen. It’s quite moisturising and whilst it won’t last all day, it’s a good one to keep in your bag for touchups.
Long-lasting Waterproof Eye Pencil in “The World’s Greytest” & Lipliner in “That’s What Rose Wood Do”
Another two favourites that I use nearly everyday! The eyeliner is a twist up (yay no paring!!) and the formula is nice and smooth. The shade is a dark grey and looks good slightly smudged for a little definition, great if you don’t want anything too harsh or strong. It also lasts all day, but I don’t use on my bottom waterline so I can’t report back if it stays put there!
The lipliner is very similiar to Rimmel’s East End Snob, a good neutral rose shade. Nice and creamy but ever so slightly on the drying side if you don’t wear a gloss, balm or lipstick with it. But again, a good one to have in the handbag for touchups.
Perfecting & Shaping Eyebrow Gel in “010 Brown”
A good all round tinted eyebrow gel and not crispy or drying at all. The shade 101 Brown is a good neutral / cool toned shade and gives my brows quick and easy definition. The only downside is the brush, which personally for me is a little to long but that’s just my preference. I do like wands that are a little stubbier and stiffer to get a more precise finish, but for just €3.49 it does a decent job.
Have you tried any of these or do you have some Catrice favourites? There are so many more products I’ve yet to try….I think it’s going to be foundations and primers next!
Till next time..
