Chic Treat time again! This month went awfully slow for me so that mixed in with a Bank Holiday weekend, I thought my beloved Chic Treat Day would never come! I’m delighted to say though that it was totally worth the wait. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, this month’s edition was in honour of a lovely lady named Tricia McCarthy. Sister of our famous beauty writer and TV personality – Triona McCarthy, the sleeve that the box arrived in and also the front cover of the little magazine, had beautiful art work which was done by Tricia. I thought this was a lovely touch. Also €2 from all subscriptions this month went towards the NBCRI.
So here’s this month’s box. We were treated to 3 full-size products and two good sample size which was fantastic!
Yon-Ka Dry Skin Toner Mist
This was the beauty of the whole box. I absolutely adore Yon-Ka products and we were given a random selection of either their Dry Mist Toner or Cleansing Milk. I was actually delighted I received the toner as I have never used a mist-type one before. This is packed full of essential oils and of course the fragrance is to die for!!! Love it so much! This was a deluxe sample size product worth €7.50.
NYX Powder Blush in Rose Garden
NYX is a brand that I adore and no least their blushes. Again there was a random selection of 2 different shades – both of which are not available to buy yet in Ireland. It also stated that these blushes were perfect for our Irish skin tones. I will get lots of use from this and it was a full size product that retails for €7.49.
Purederm Exfoliating Foot Mask
I do remember one of these fool peels in a previous Chic Treat box a few months ago. It was before I was subscribed so I never got to try it out. I don’t know about you, but these are not something that I would pick up for myself in a chemist, so it’s great to include them in subscription boxes. Shamefully, I have pretty much neglected my feet since the colder weather has arrived, so my tootsies will be getting a little pampering session this weekend! Full size and retails for €3.99 for 1 pair.
Wet ‘n’ Wild Mega Last Lipstick
I am going to hide behind the sofa when I say this, but I have yet to try anything from Wet ‘n’ Wild. There is no where near me that stocks it, not even my local Dunnes! I have heard to much about these lipsticks, and on first swatch I can see why. They are so pigmented and extremely creamy. Although the colour “Think Pink” is a neutral pink, a light hand is needed as it is that pigmented! This is going straight into my makeup bag and will get used everyday. Full size and retails for a bargain of €2.99.
Roger & Gallet Body Sorbet
When I see anything from this crowd I instantly know I am going to smell amazing!! I have heard so much about their body oils and showers creams. There was a random selection between Bois d”Orange and Fleur de Figuier. The one I received, Bois d’Orange contains notes of basil, verbena, orange blossom, amber and cedar wood. And yes I can report that it smells divine and leaves your skin silky soft. This was a deluxe sample size (50ml) worth €3.50.
Overall I really loved everything that I received this month and I know I will get use out of the lot. The total of the contents tot up to €25.47. It’s also great to know that €2 of that is going to a great cause.
Oh and I got a little mention in the magazine along with a few other bloggers. We were asked what our favourite beauty product was and why.
What did you think of this month’s Chic Treat Box? Roll on November when we get closer to the Christmas goodies!
Much love x
