My go-to evening makeup products

Last night I headed out on a staff reunion night and wanted my makeup to look flawless but not overly heavy or dramatic. When I got home (3am on a school night!!! lol ) my makeup was still very much near perfect! As I was getting ready I took some photos of the products I used so I could go through them and show the look I achieved.

The Base

1.

First off I used the Boots Botanics Radiance Balm and I find applying it with a my Nima round head kabuki and buffing it into the skin, gives a better effect than just slathering it on with my fingers.

Next up was primer and for a night out or I know photos are going to be taken, Benefit Porefessional is the winner. I don’t apply it over my whole face but just on my t-zone and where my pores are. It gives a fantastic smooth base and honestly “it does what it says on the tin”! If you have open pores and I would really recommend it.

For foundation I mixed my two beloved together. L’Oreal Infalliable 24hr matte and MAC Pro Longwear, buffed into the skin with my Nima round head kabuki. Both of these together gave a flawless base and I had no need to use a concealer. These two are foundation heaven!

The Eyes

Apply

For eyebrows I used MeMeMe Brow Angel to shape and colour in the brow hairs and to give a more defined brow I used an eyeshadow from BUFF called “Desert” with an angled brush. This colour is the perfect brow shade! I highlighted slightly underneath with the highlighter from the Brow Angel.

I used the Au Natural Eyeshadow Palette and while it is a nude-toned palette, there are 2 beautiful cranberry shades that are perfect for doing a smoky eye. For โ‚ฌ10.00 you really can’t go wrong with these palettes, and this would make a great one to try if you haven’t tried them before.

Eyeliner was the Maybelline Master Kajal and I love this as its perfect for smudging and it stays put. Liquid liner isn’t my string point, so this is pretty foulproof for me!

The Lips

My favourite lipiner - Rimmel -Indian

I didn’t go too mad with the lips as I was heading for a meal first and really didn’t want to have to worry about lipstick wearing off. My go-to combination is the Rimmel Lipliner in “Indian Pink” which is a lovely Fuschia shade. I used a little Revlon Ultimate Suede lipstick on top but this is a very sheer and moisturising lipstick and really more like a good tinted balm. I also have a Vaseline tin in every bag I own so this goes everywhere with me!

The Finish

I didn’t need to set my foundation too much so I just used a very light dusting of the Maybelline 24hr Super Stay powder to my t-zone and some MAC Soft n Gentle to my cheekbones. For blush I went with MAC “Dainty”.

Here’s the finished face ๐Ÿ™‚

This is also the first time in about 3 months that my skin has actually been clear! As you may know I suffer with cystic and hormonal acne but I have been trialling some new products and they have worked wonders! I will be doing a full review and more information on them very soon. I did however get a lovely coldsore for the night but hey, what can you do!

Again, thanks for reading and if you like any of the above products too, make sure to let me know!

Much love,

Leanne xx

Thank you! They are Nima brushes available at nimabrush.com. The smudge brush is just a generic one from a pharmacy
