I really love some shimmer on my eyelids. The only matte eyeshadows I wear really are from the Naked 2 Basics palette. When these little pots of loveliness landed on my doorstep recently, I was really excited to try them.
The only product that I have used that was similar these was the Bourjois Colour Tattoo Eyehadows. While they were thicker in formula than these Max Factor* ones, they left a beautiful sheen on the lid and were uber quick to apply. I was hoping the same for these.
First of all you get LOADS of product in these little pots, like literally I don’t think it would be possible to finish the whole lot before they started to turn a bit yukky in a few months (the downside of cream eyeshadows). The 3D silicone formula contains emollients that give a silky smooth finish and blend really easily. They are extremly light-weight and feel very much like a mousse, not at all oily or sticky.
They state that these will last up to 12 hours without creasing but honestly you will probably get about 4-5 hours before slight creasing, and they do start to wear off the lid after that. If you use a primer underneath, you won’t find creasing a problem at all and will get a good 8 hours full colour wear.
For day-time I like to just use my finger tips to blend onto the lid. They give a beautiful wash of colour and when teamed with a black liner, they really stand out! For an evening look I use a primer, then apply with a synthetic flat brush. I leave to settle for a few minutes then apply another coat on top for a full on glam look. I love how these are so versatile!
They are available in 6 colours: Pink Opal, Crystal, Copper, Pearl, Bronze and Onyx. Out of them all my favourites would definitely be Copper and Bronze. They look amazing on the lid and would suit any eye colour. I found both Pearl & Pink Opal very washy and really didn’t do much for my eyes. The shade Onyx is interesting. It can be easily blended at the outer corners for s smokey look thats not too overpowering. Crystal is an amazing highlight colour and can be used under the brow bone, inner corner of the eye and even on the cheekbones. I sometimes use this over my other eyeshadows just on the middle of the eyelid.
Priced at €7.99, these are fantastic for not only the upcoming party season, but for quick and easy day-time looks too. Let me know if you try these!
