I came across this tan while watching my guilty pleasure QVC a few months ago, and while facial tanners are nothing of a new thing, the hype behind this got me interested. James himself claims this is used religiously by celebrities and it will give you glowing, sunskissed skin in the morning, minus any dryness or breakouts.
What makes this product different?
As the name suggests it’s more than just a face tan. Ingredients include Aloe Vera to soothe and repair, Hyaluronic acid & Red Algae to keep the skin moisturised while getting that golden glow. As this is specifically for the face, the tan itself only contains a small amount of tanning ingredients, so no frights first thing when you look in the mirror!
Product & Packaging
The downside to this is that is it a clear gel and not tinted, but as you apply to the skin you can see a sheen thats left behind, so you can gauge that way where you’ve applied. This comes in both 50ml and 100ml pump bottles, I have to say that I love the gold and white packaging – there’s something very luxe about it! James states that it’s fragrance free, although there is a very slight tan smell but definitely nothing overpowering.
How to apply
Make sure you skin is fully cleansed and as this replaces your moisturiser, you just apply this straight onto clean skin. Blend down the neck and use any remainder on the ears. I found this sinks into the skin pretty quickly, with no greasy feeling or residue left.
I have fair skin and this just gives a subtle hint of colour the next day, with my skin not feeling tight or dry. It didn’t break me out or settle into pores, which can be an issue with some body tans when applied to the face. I think this is great for anyone who finds that they breakout when using body tan on their face or find it over drying. If I use a second night, I get a good colour that will last for around 2 days as I use liquid peels, for others it should last 2-3 days.
At the moment theres not many stockists in Ireland, but is available in most Marks & Spencer stores and also Harvey Nichols in Dundrum. 50ml is around €23.00 but I picked this one up in my local T.K. Maxx for €12.99, so be sure to have a look there too if you are thinking of trying it out.
