Known as a cult product worldwide, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream has stood the test of time. Makeup artists rave that its always part of their makeup kit, and it can solve everything from chapped lips to unruly brows! But there is one thing I absolutely cannot stand about this product…the smell. Its strong, and my god theres no getting away from it of you’ve applied this to your face!
I found a brilliant dupe, 1/3 the price, that does everything Eight Hour Cream can, but without the nasty smell. Eucerin is a fantastic brand, and their range is great for dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. In a subscription box last year I received this. (I am now on my 2nd tube!)The consistency is not as thick as Eight Hour, its similar to petroleum jelly, and it is not coloured.
It is labelled as a “skin soothing balm”, and listed on the back of the tube is the following:
- Clinically proven to help support skin’s own regeneration process
- Soothes and protects very dry or even cracked skin
- Creates a protective barrier that allows the passage of water vapour
- Fragrance-free and preservative-free
- Gentle enough to use on babies
I solely use this now, and is great as a substitute as a lip balm. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is €33.00 for 50ml and Eucerin Aquaphor is €11.69 for 40ml. Big saving there too!
Do you use the Eight Hour Cream? Have you tried this?
Much love x
