Some of my favourite posts to read are other peoples skincare routines, so I thought I would pop up what I’m currently using at the moment. Since my mid-twenties, skincare has become a bit of an addiction for me and finding products that really work. So here’s the low-down on what’s on my mug the past few weeks.
Cleansing & Toning
Bioderma Micellar Water
I was never a fan of the Garnier Micellar Water but since using Bioderma, there’s really no comparison. I’ve been using this as my first cleanse and while both will take off makeup in the same way, the Bioderma just leaves your skin feeling much cleaner. I like to use the Oval pads from Tesco as opposed to the small round ones which I tend to just use for toner.
REN Cleansing Gel
Going in with my second cleanse, which I do religiously, I’ve been using the REN Cleansing Gel. Before this I was using the Cleansing Milk but I’m finding this one so much better. You know that squeaky clean feeling you get from a clarifying shampoo? Well that’s what your face feels like afterwards, but not at all feeling dry and every scrap of makeup is gone.
Clearogen Anti-Blemish Toner 1% Salicylic Acid
For toning I’m using the Clearogen toner to keep my acne in check. I done a full review on the Clearogen system and I found fantastic results from it. I use the products twice a week now but use the toner every night as it contains salicylic acid and this is a good way of adding into my skincare routine.
Serum, Eye Cream & Moisturiser
SkinCeuticals C.E. Ferulic
While this is not specifically a night serum, I really enjoy using after a good cleansing. No frills skincare at it’s finest here and SkinCeuticals are world renowned for being results-driven. This is an antioxidant so it protects from free radicals that accelerate the process of ageing – yes hello!!! This is the Ferrari of skincare at a Ferrari price, but once this sinks into the skin it cannot be washed or rubbed off, meaning it only needs to be applied every 72 hours.
SkinCeuticals AOX+ Eye Gel
This is a serum-gel formula so for that reason I like to use at night, and use a different eye cream for daytime. I just find that if I use this type of eye cream during the day, my concealer tends to not sit as well as it would with a cream one. It’s fantastic for reducing puffiness around the eyes and was a godsend when my hay-fever was pretty bad last month. Caroline Hirons also mentioned that it was one of her favourites so it must be good!!
Vichy Skin Sleep
I’ve been loving this new offering from Vichy. It’s their brand new night cream and feels so luxurious on the skin. I also done a first impressions post on this and I have to say I’m still really enjoying using it. My skin just drinks it up and as it’s a gel-cream texture, it has all the benefits of a heavy moisturiser but with the lightweight feel of a gel.
Abeeco BeeVenom Mask
I use a face mask twice weekly and lately I’ve been using the BeeVenom Mask and the Nimue Leave-On mask. The BeeVenom mask is a new find for me and I will have a full review up on it soon. Honestly it’s not as scary as it sounds, and feels like a regular mask after a few uses. I find it great to really plump out the skin and my makeup sits so much better the next day.
Nimue Leave-On Mask
If you like to use regular face masks overnight but hate the tacky feel, then this is right up your street. It’s specifically designed to be worn at night and sinks into the skin like any regular moisturiser. The difference is that the next morning, your skin feels really hydrated and looks glowing!
So there you go, it might be a bit much for some people but honestly it’s my favourite time of the day! Lotions and potions are really my weakness! Is there anything that you use here or anything you would like me to fully review? I will be doing a full review on the BeeVenom mask over the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that!
Thanks for reading! Much love,
