It’s Chic Treat time of the month again – so hard to believe is the end of August already! After last month’s box – which sent Twitter into an absolute frenzy with it’s amazing contents, I had high hopes for this month, although secretly I knew it was going to be hard to beat! Have a gander on to see what I thought…
This months is themed “Seasons Essentials” and heres what was inside:
Beter Large All Purpose Brush
This is a new brand launching September in pharmacies nationwide. (I wonder is it pronounced bee-ter or better?) I had never heard of them before now so it will be interesting to see what the rest of the brush-line is like. This is a nice handy brish to have. It’s multi-use so can be used woth powder, blush, bronzer etc. Its lovely and soft and will be perfect for carrying around in my makeup bag. Really like this. Retails for €16.99.
Kiss All-Over Hydrating Balm
There was a variation of 3 different nail products this month, the other two were a nail strengthener and a cuticle remover. This I will definetly be using as I suffer from very dry cuticles and split nails all the time. Nice little handy product that I never thought of buying myself. Retails for €5.58.
Brazilian Mud Fabric Masque
I haven’t used a face make like this in so long so Im looking forward to giving this a go on my next pamper night. This one contains magnesium which is aimed to cleanse and stimulate the skin and avocado to fight cell damage. I don’t expect miracles from this but hopefully it will leave me with nice baby-soft skin. Retails for €1.99.
Thalgo Soft Hydration Emulsion
Some people received this body lotion and other received a shower gel plus there was two generous sized samples in each box. Thalgo is a fantastic high-end brand to have in the box and I have never used anything from its line before. Personally I dont use body creams that much, perhaps just on my arms in Summer. I will use these regardless, and they also double up as hand-creams as they are nice and small. They smell very much like CK One – a fresh scent which is nice. Retail on full 250ml size is €26 making the 2 samples worth around €6.50.
Kubiss London Face Powder
This is also another new brand being launched in Ireland and will be available through The Cosmetic Outlet. There were 3 different types of powder sent out and I recieved the face powder. It says it helps control shine and gives a subtle matte finish. I do like setting powders but this one seems quite chalky on first swatch and the colour may be a bit too dark for me. (the photo makes it look a lot lighter) Also the packaging feels quite cheap, but so is Rimmel Matte powder and I friggin love the stuff! I will see how I get on with this. Retails for around €2.
Unfortunately, this did not out-do last month’s but it still wasn’t too bad. I did like the variety of products that was included, and the brush alone has covered the cost of the box. I will also get lots of use from the cuticle cream and that face mask will be on my mush over the weekend! The contents this month’s came to about €33.00 which it double what I’ve paid for.
What did you think of this month’s box? If you would like to subscribe to Chic Treat, they have 3 month, 6 month and rolling subscriptions available.
Much love x
