This month’s Glossybox was a special edition called “Iconic Hollywood” based on recreating the Hollywood glam look of the statement red lip, cat eye flick and glowing skin. There were four different coloured boxes featuring Marilyn Monroe on the front and some inspirational quotes on the inside lid.
These boxes are so beautiful and I will definitely be re-using this on my dressing table! Here’s what was inside…
Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil in “Kiss”
This item was mentioned on their website last month so it was a bit of a spoiler to know one of the products. Nevertheless it’s a beautiful creamy lipstick pencil in a burnt orange shade. The pigmentation of this is unreal and is a gorgeous creamy consistency. Being a neutral girl I tend to shy away from bright colours (and this is bright!) but I’m going to give it a shot this week. It’s a matte finish which I personally find uncomfortable to wear, but nothing a bit of gloss won’t sort out! RRP £10.00 (€14.00)
Astral Original Face & Body Moisturiser
It’s been around for decades. This moisturiser was a firm favourite with my Nan and her skin always looked glowing with very few wrinkles! I’ve never used it before but I did use it instead of my usual day moisturiser this morning and my face was unbelievably soft and felt deeply moisturised. This won’t for everyone as it’s quite rich but it would make a good night time moisturiser instead. It is fragranced but it fades away pretty quickly. It’s also cheap as chips to buy at £3.89 (€5.50) for a 200ml tub. It can also be used all over the body and even as a makeup remover!
POP Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pen
This was my least favourite product from the box. The pigment isn’t great, its a bit washy and not very long lasting. Also the smudger is absolute crap as it just rubs the whole lot back off. Not sure if I will get much use from this. RRP £6.50 (€9.00).
Nougat London – Luscious Lip Balm
Oh how I love getting lip balms in subscription boxes, I honestly can never have too many! This one is way tooo cute, housed in a beautiful little box. There was a mixture of flavours including rose, fig, cherry or peony and I received cherry. I was expecting the usual lip balm texture but it is very solid so I can see this lasting ages! Feels lovely on the lips and very moisturising. RRP £6.00 (€8.30)
Model & Co Bronze Shimmer
This is a shimmering bronzer (shimmer is not my friend!) and really a pity this wasn’t matte. Glossybox state that this is the “perfect tool for contouring” but anything with even a hint of shimmer is going to be noticeable a mile away! All is not lost though as I will get use out of this as an eyeshadow and I think it will make a great transition shade for a glammed up eye look. Sample size received worth €8.00 (Full size RRP £18.00)
Overall this month’s box was great, apart from the eyeliner but I’ll definitely use everything else. There were 3 full-sized product and two good sized samples making the box itself worth just over €40.00. I paid just over €19.00 incl delivery so it was great value.
