Affordable Shimmer Bricks I’m loving right now

Shimmer Shimmer!_Fotor1

Adding a bit of shimmer for some subtle glow on the skin is a must for Summer and all year round really! Shimmer bricks are fantastic for this not only for giving a lift to the skin but they are so versatile and multi-use. I love that you can just swirl the brush to add some definition to the face and focus on the lighter shades for highlighting and darker for more bronze or blush. They’re my last step when my makeup is done, I just use a duo fibre brush and gently dust onto my cheeks and down my nose.

They’re also great as eyeshadows for a wash of colour that won’t take too much time or effort, and I sometimes mix them with my current eyeshadows to give a shimmer finish on my favourite matte eyeshadow shades. They are ideal for travel, holiday, nights away and I have 4 below that I am currently using. I honestly love them all, and each have a different shade palette depending on the look I’m going for. Best of all they are really affordable too!

Seventeen have really upped their game the past few months. You make have heard me shouting from the rooftops about my utter love for their HD Mascara! These shimmer bricks come in two shades, Pink Bronze or Gold bronze. I went with the Pink shade as I’m quite fair skinned. The shades are beautiful and quite light on application making is very easy to build up the colour as needed. I found the Pink Bronze perfect for my skin tone so the Gold Bronze would be ideal for someone more tanned or with a darker skin tone. At €6.99 it’s a steal!

If you haven’t checked out MeMeMe cosmetics yet, you really need to get to a stand…pronto! They have some absolute gems and these shimmer stacks are amazing, they really feel and look like they are more higher-end! The packaging is really sturdy and also have a mirror with is always an added bonus with any powder or face product! Both shimmer stacks have a beautiful highlight colour on top that can be used on the inner corner of the eye, as a highlight or over eyeshadow. All the shades make fantastic shadows or crease colours themselves and while they have slight glitter in the pan, when applied it leaves just a beautiful glow. Highly recommend you check these out and they are €11.95 each.

This is what I reach for when I am doing any evening makeup. It’s very much like an illuminating bronzer as the shades run a little darker than the others I have. The lighter shade makes such a beautiful eyeshadow and I sometimes use it for that during the daytime. The darker shades when swirled together give definition when bronzing but still giving just enough glow to lift the face. I also use this on my collarbones and chest so for me its a perfect Summer staple, and also the perfect handbag size for a night out! It’s  just €4.99 and can be picked up at most Dunnes Stores.

Must-have: Real Techniques Medium Duo Fibre Brush

I find this is by far the best brush to apply anything shimmery as it will just pick up enough product without overloading the skin. You can build up the colour and intensity really easily too. Probably my most used brush lately!

What’s your favourite drugstore shimmer product or have you used any of the above?

Thanks for reading! Much love,

Leanne xx

They are fab aren’t they? My budget won’t allow the gorgeous one from Bobbi Brown but I’m getting on great with these ones! x
